Uh, oh...has FOX NEWS started to see reality?
Their live reporter just identified the thugs from yesterday as being paid by the Mubarak Government. Is this a slip of the tongue, or are they bowing to reality and trying to gavoid looking completely out of touch?

1. Fox always sees reality
It simply chooses to lie about it.

2. I caught some of Fox

roundabout midnight GMT here in the UK and whoever was reporting and what he reported then was really no different from BBC or Sky reports here.

Think it was Shepard Smith reporting.

3. I checked in there yesterday morning, to see how they may be spinning it...

and heard them reporting the same: identifying pro-Mubarek thugs as the ones creating violence.

AND they were reading from Al-Jazeera!

:wow:

Good on them. Maybe M$M will be inspired enough to wake up here -- even Fox. I'm not holding my breath, but I can hope...

4. They Can't Manipulate This Thing...
Most stories that Faux does is one they know they can manipulate or just make up out of thin air. This one they can't. Firstly, they have little of a real news operation, thus they are miles behind the other networks who have people on the ground and with credible info...all faux can do is recite what others are already reporting. Secondly, it's a story they lose on if they take sides. There are those in wingnutia who look at the demostrators against Mubarak as a "tea party". From what I've been reading Faux has done precious little on this story other than hopes this adminisrtraion screws up...which they haven't.

9. It's a good thing to read and watch many different sources of information.
We could all sit here in our mostly agreeable environment, read what pleases us and preach to the choir.

What you're doing is a wise thing.

"I need to know what they're spinning"

ummm...yeah :eyes:

It's ok. Fox is by far the highest-ranking cable "News" network. I am glad not all of the addicts are wing nuts. But I still find it very strange.

21. For the most part, I have no choice. I am the caretaker for my 94
yr. old mother who loves faux news! So I just hear it....a good part of the day altho I usually, in the past, tuned in occasionally to see what the cretins were saying. Mom is too old to understand the complexities of the lies spewed on faux news. I've tried to explain but she doesn't want to hear it and gets all frustrated so..............

14. Know thine enemy...
Is valid advice. I for one am quite happy that others have the guts and gag reflex suppression to watch that crap and report back. I have a lot of dumbass TeaBaggy cousins and such... having a quick answer to their poutrage du jour is the only way to manage life with them.

17. Many people can not seperate comments that are about societal issues
Edited on Thu Feb-03-11 08:16 PM by RandomThoughts
From comments about spiritual items in some of the Muslim interpretations

There is a draw to the social control ideas in Islam, that is not part of spiritual teachings, even if in the same texts, that many in the status quo like. Some of the teaching in some interpretations are stuck in a bias from that era, and to make it easier for running a society, not for the people in that society. If you want to only run a society, rules across all of society are easier, even if not needed for most in society.

But people are not all Muslims, including most Muslims.
