The best solution to the Immigration Problem

would be to provide aid and support to the Mexican people. The reason that they come to this country is to find freedom and jobs. The oppressive political system that they historically suffer under is two tiered, with the rich maintaining control and the poor enduring unconscionable hardships. Our government should show compassion for these people and not secure the borders.

Not really, but it would be fun to put the bill up for a vote.

2. Put employers of illegals in jail.

That would stop the flow of 'undocumented workers' into our country.

Then, finally, if the vast majority of the population in Mexico gets sick and tired of the corrupt, greed regime that rules there -- they will revolt and install a genuine people's government.

But as long as the U.S. serves as a safety valve for the elitist regime in Mexico, then they will be able to maintain their control over the government.

Employers are ground zero when it comes to illegal immigration. Many of these people aren't coming for political reasons, but because they want to make more money than they can back home. Even the depressed wages they get here can be better than what they can earn in their home countries. Employers are the draw and they should be the ones held accountable. It's going to be interesting to see Republicans (and some Democrats) have to choose between the base that votes for them and the business-types that give them money. My guess is the base is going to win on this one.

It might be tough to get new laws passed that lead to employers being jailed, but it wouldn't be as hard to enact crippling fines in the tens of thousands for hiring illegals. That would get their attention real quick.

6. I agree!

Republicans "WANT" to keep the illegals from becoming legal so right wing employers can pay low wages and do their best to break the unions! NAFTA increased the number of illegals coming across the boarder because they could no longer make a living in Mexico. The republicans knew this would happen, it was part of the plan! Employers have never been held accountable for hiring illegals, not like they should be. Since Obama became president more employers have been targeted instead of the illegal workers. In my town 800 or more were laid off by the biggest employer or illegals in the whole county! In the past the border patrol simply picked up the illegals when they got off work, not very many, and in less than a week after they were deported they were back at work at the same place. This time ICE went through the companies paper work and found all those with invalid I-9 forms and told the company they had a certain number of days to let them all go, and that they would be back to check up on them.

If employers were hit with "HUGE" fines, and if they continued to hire illegals, then hit with jail time, it would stop! If "free trade" was instead "fair trade", people would not have to come to the US to find work!

through no fault of their own. Really it is awful to contemplate they are not willing to help them.

what would we do without cheap labor?

As is Mexico actually has a lot of freedoms. and a nasty war on drugs... but it is a free country.

Now you want to know some reforms we need to stop that?

FINE EMPLOYERS. JAIL TIME FOR REPEAT OFFENDERS...

REPEAL NAFTA. NAFTA has taken a lot of the jobs from the land and reversed the process of land distribution, and added to that our companies, read Tyson, are involved in human trafficking.

You think this is happening without a wink and nod from OUR government?
