Millard South Principal Curtis Case returned to work Monday, 26 days after he was shot at school by a student.

“He's back a couple of hours a day as his doctor allows,” said Amy Friedman, spokeswoman for the Millard School District. She said that “everyone's thrilled that he's back, and he inspires the students and staff.”

Assistant Principal Vicki Kaspar also was shot by the student and died that night. The student, Robert Butler Jr., committed suicide shortly after the attack. The boy had been suspended 19 days for driving a car on the Millard South football field.
