Woman shot during zombie argument
Published: Dec. 5, 2012 at 4:05 PM

WILLISTON PARK, N.Y., Dec. 5 (UPI) -- Police in New York state said a man shot his girlfriend during a fight about whether a zombie outbreak as seen on AMC's "The Walking Dead" could actually occur.

Nassau County Detective Lt. Raymond Cote said Jared Gurman, 26, argued via text messages with his girlfriend, Jessica Gelderman, 27, just after 2:30 a.m. Monday about the possibility of a zombie apocalypse as depicted on the AMC series, WNBC-TV, New York, reported Wednesday.

"He feels strongly about the possibility that some military mishap could occur. She thinks it's ridiculous," ABC News quoted Cote as saying. "She was not taking him seriously or taking the show as seriously as he does."

Gelderman attempted to talk to Gurman and enter his home, but he shot her in the back with a .22-caliber rifle, police said.

Gurman drove Gelderman to the hospital, where she was treated for a shattered rib, a pierced lung and a pierced diaphragm.

Gurman was charged with attempted murder.

I might have called an ambulance instead of getting into the car with my obviously crazy shooter, but that's just me.

1. I guess that is about as reasonable as
the guy that shot the teenagers in Florida over their loud music. This nation has collectively lost its fucking mind. I plan to use the word fuck in every post to illustrate this very point.

Ever notice how many people believe in things that don't even rise to the level of pseudo science? The belief in stupid things is saturating the nation. I encountered a woman online yesterday that insisted Noah's Ark had been discovered and science had proven the existence of ghosts. She was incredulous that I said these ideas were not true. The belief in real zombies is right in the ball park with Sasquatch and Noah's ark. People can no longer distinguish fact from fiction. The population is intentionally being dumbed down.

2. I look forward to your future fucking posts.
By the way, the woman was correct. Noah's Ark has been discovered. Many times, apparently.

3. You got it.
Shiny object...look over there. Don't pay any attention to the real crazies who are robbing the Planet and destroying the Environment.

Nothing to see here...Move along.

5. Someone said it.
Someone let it out the other day.

It started with Enron. There was no lie or crime too big for the criminals at Enron. "They", Enron's direct spiritual descendent's, are looking at the United States of America as one of those corporations the private equity groups would take over and rape of assets. Sounds right to me. Make a noise over there while we are over here stealing every fucking cent. Then they can blame it on poor people and hard working people and laugh as jobs and pensions are gone forever. Iraq and Afghanistan are two such examples of such subterfuge, those and 9/11 itself.

6. Funny you should mention Enron. A friend just showed me a copy of Money magazine naming
Skilling or Lay (forgot which) executive of the year. The mazagine was dated five months before Enron hit the fan.

Why do we even pay attention to the so-called experts?

7. Yes!
One thing we can say for certain, without consulting the experts, is that the experts are nearly always wrong about nearly every issue.

The last election being exhibit "A". Fox "News" paraded one fucking "expert" after another onto the TV screen assuring the viewers (and themselves) that Romney had it in the bag. The "LEFT" only had one expert and he happened to be correct. But apparently Nate Silver inhabits a reality based universe.

Want to see some non-expert experts? Tune in to the Sunday Morning political talk shows.

The fucking Texas Republicans felt that Enron was a good economic model for the nation. You are living the results.

Phil Gramm, author of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, got his wife on the Enron board of directors. Phil was also John McCain's economic adviser during the campaign for president. Phil was John's expert.
