The British Craig T. Nelson

In an interview on BBC's The One Show Wednesday, Jeremy Clarkson, host of BBC's Top Gear, was asked about the strikes that had affected "schools, hospitals, airports, even driving tests."

"Frankly, I'd have them all shot!" Clarkson exclaimed.

"I would take them outside and execute them in front of their families. I mean how dare they go on strike when they've got these gilt-edged pensions that are going to be guaranteed while the rest of us have to work for a living?"

As a BBC employee, Clarkson is essentially paid by the same British taxpayers who he was calling to have executed.

Craig T. Nelson - "I've been on food stamps and welfare. Anybody help me out? No."

1. Lol Clarkson is known to say things just to piss people off. I tend not to take the outlandish
things he says.

2. CTN: "I've been on food stamps and welfare. Anybody help me out? No."
What an idiot.

And so is the BBC employee.

3. I really don't take any non-vehicle comment he makes seriously.
And even a lot of his vehicle-comments are just part of the whole Top Gear comedy :)

This clip from BBC shows that most anyone else shouldn't take him seriously, either:

5. Clarkson is an odd duck
He regularly makes outrageous statements that predictably drive people crazy. He then gives a wink (more or less) when questioned about his veracity in making the statement. I tend to look at what he says as a rather effective means of marketing his show through trolling. It could be that he's really as loony as his regular public statements make him seem, but I don't know that it matters much. He's the host on a show about cars. While I'm sure he does have some political influence, I doubt it makes up more than a tiny percentage of his audience.

6. OMG, I can't believe Nelson said that!! - In a related thought...
... people who want to make massive cuts to the social safety net and then claim that folks just need to pitch in and help eachother out like neighbors..... Uh, WTF do you think the safety net IS exactly?? Welfare IS people helping people!! It is YOU helping out others!!
