Why Did Vogue Italia Pull This Controversial Karlie Kloss Image?

In case you haven’t heard (or seen), Karlie Kloss landed the December cover of Vogue Italia and is also the subject of a very, very revealing Steven Meisel-shot editorial inside, which we posted yesterday.

Today, one of the photos has been taken down from Vogue Italia’s site, Fashion Copious noticed. All of the photos garnered a strong, mostly negative reaction–at least from our readers–but the photo Vogue took down happens to be the one we posted on Facebook, eliciting a stream of concerned comments about her perceived anorexia, over-photoshopping and her “contorted” body. Some examples:

4. The image looks badly photoshopped.

From the other photos, the model does not appear anorexic to me. She has boobs and a butt and muscle tone. Definitely tall and skinny. She's got her whole life ahead of her to pack on the pounds.
