Panic in the Pentagon: Can't Pass Weapons Testing? Army Chief Says to Get Rid of It

http://www.truth-out.org/panic-pentagon-cant-pass-weapons-testing/1321461224

The Department of Defense (DoD) contractors and their followers in the Pentagon are in a panic. The first set of proposed cuts in the DoD by the Congress and the Obama administration, followed by the threat of more cuts if the Congressional "supercommittee" does not come to an agreement has them claiming potential national security Armageddon.

-very long snip about the history/current ins and outs of the situation-

Fixing what is really wrong with weapons procurement in the DoD would save billions of dollars, but also would require political courage and hard work. Unfortunately, it is much easier for the DoD to cut the money from the messengers in the bureaucracy who bear bad news.
-------------------------

it would take a miracle to get the Barons to make a reduced budget and stick to it

and since miracles are a construct - nothing will change

until the pentagon is turned into an apartment building

1. Wait, what?
Just because a weapon doesn't work, is that any reason not to buy it? Lots of them? Lots and lots of them in perpetuity? This way lies madness! Madness, I tells ya! How can we keep America safe if we're not buying useless junk from weapons manufacturers?

2. tests? tests?
What - wtf? I mean why do we have to test these? I'm sure that everything works just the way they are supposed to. The problem is simple, we just have to get rid of tests? See how easy that is?
