The "Occupy Wall Street" movement has spread to several states, including Alaska. While police move in to try to shut down protestor encampments across the country, it's a different story for Anchorage. The protestors here aren't battling the police, but they are fighting the bitter cold.
Many have been rotating through tents in Town Square Park, keeping warm with a propane heater and the bare necessities.
While some cities are considering banning tents and sleeping bags from public parks because of safety and sanitation concerns, Anchorage protestors say they are working with the Anchorage Police department and the city.
"Up here, it's smaller town, lots of locals that have families of their own, and realize that we're fighting for them as well,” said protestor John Westlund.
