Victim 1 Cried When Penn State Suspect Was on TV, Mom Wants More to Come Forward

The mother of the boy identified as Victim 1 in the Penn State sex abuse scandal said her son broke down in tears when he heard accused child molester Jerry Sandusky claim on television they were just "horsing around."

When she asked her son why he cried, "He said, 'Because I'm afraid. I'm afraid he'll go free.'"

The mom said she reassured her son that is not likely to happen.

"There's other witnesses, probably more victims out there to come forward yet," she told her son, and she urged others with information to speak up.

The abuse of victim #1 began in 2007 so if he was 10 at the time that would mean he is 14 now.

"2007: According to the grand jury report, during the 2007 track season, Sandusky begins spending time with boy known as Victim 1. Victim 1 stays overnight at Sandusky’s home, and later testifies that Sandusky performs oral sex on him multiple times. Sandusky also brings Victim 1 onto PSU campus even though he was barred from bringing boys to the university after alleged 2002 incident."

4. I have helped in abuse investigation cases and it is very important

that victims come forward to strengthen the case. But considering how the media is treating victims in this and the Cain case I can see why they would not want to. The media should be charged with obstructing justice.
