By candlelight, live blogging WALKER recall signings.

Looking at the candles as people sign. It is sobering (yet exciting).

Lots of police but no problems.

They are signing the petitions to Recall Gov Walker across from his home in a neigbors yard.

2. We are all wondering about the potential signature numbers. ...

Mark Maley - Patch:
I just heard from Graeme Zielinski, the communications director for the state Democratic Party. He says that there will be no numbers available tonight on how many signatures were gathered today.

Won't be any real numbers for a few days, he says...

5. Graeme is a neat guy.
I am very glad he's the communications director. I hope and suspect that they'll keep ose numbers to themselves for a while. We have a huge task to get 700k. It won't be easy and we need to keep the sense of urgency very high

10. I heard on MSNBC earier today they'll need about 9,000 per day to meet the numbers required. Dunno
if it's true or not.

Ain't it awful when you can't trust the news anymore?

15. That number is the bare minimum. We need a serious surplus to account for
Mistakes and dirty tricks.

16. All good fortune to you. I can't come and sign but I can visualize and affirm from over here! The
mistakes and dirty tricks have already begun and are sure to increase in blatant fashion.

We The People really need this one.

3. thanks. I do not know the area. There is an article here...

I started to read it but so many nasty republican comments that I gave up. I want to just swim in the feeling of the candlelight signings.

I will probably go back and read some.

6. Dem party is pleased with the signature numbers so far...
But have to admit--we have a long way to go.

Mark Maley - Patch:
Although the state Democratic Party isn't releasing any numbers on how many signatures were collected statewide today, party spokesman Graeme Zielinski told Patch the Dems are thrilled with the response recall organizers have received...

"We couldn't ask for a better day and we've met and surpassed our goals. There clearly is widespread enthusiasm across our great state to stop Scott Walker's assault on Wisconsin," he said.
