We are the change--not a cliche

It has occurred to me during this most disheartening week yet
of this administration that we did actually experience change
we could believe in when we elected Obama to be our president.
What I mean is, the shared vision of a new way forward was
real for millions. That in itself is a change we can believe
in. Whether or not Obama held to that vision, we still do. I
am putting my faith in us as we go forward. The vision is
still clear and is still worth working toward.

Not to say this 'compromise' isn't an outrageous betrayal on a
host of levels. I don't want to get started. What matters for
me is that this is the moment that crystallizes my getting
that things have gone badly wrong with our misguided
leadership.
