i believe that a good argument could be made that we live in a post sovereign state world.
that at some point the debt that other nations buy up from other nations -- that financial corporations buy up -- the influence that multi-national corporations have on the global capitals -- that citizens should have to scramble to protect a nations commons, etc.

we talk a lot about china owning our debt -- but china's{or india or brazil...} wealth was built from enterprizes from the west{europe and america} -- and still is.

i think this something we are over looking.

it bothers me.

1. Only in the sense that international corporations rival the power of soveregn states.
Goverment *is* the problem, according to Republican theology, primarily because it is the only power potentially strong enough to rival that of the business elite.

2. I wonder about that too and whether it serves global corporate interest to have the US
seen as the one remaining superpower.
