See, when you aim at someone's face, there is no non-lethal weapon.

I knew someone who was hit by one of those years ago and the blood and the bruise, very near their eye, certainly was within inches of a devastating eye injury.

This has got to stop.

And last night, they hit a protestor in the head/face, an Iraq War veteran, and he hit his head on the pavement after falling down, his brain swelled and he's now unconscious in the hospital.

Is this a free country when peaceful protestors are shot in the face with objects? And what of a police department that does this and has done it in the past?

1. Intentional misuse of devices designated as less-than lethal is criminal and not protected.
Period.

3. They had to shoot them in the face to protect them from unsanitary conditions.

4. Geeze,
I'm not in Oakland but if I was I'd go there. Now there should be 10,000 more people going there today. They can't put EVERYONE in jail...................... :grr:

5. Good point Creeky.
OPD has a bad history of militarized reactions to things. I hope this has finally gone too far and that there is a sea change.
