More Americans than Chinese can’t put food on the table
http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/lookout/more-americans-chinese-t-put-food-table-132752601.html

The number of Americans who lack access to basic necessities like food and health care is now higher than it was at the peak of the Great Recession, a survey released Thursday found. And in a finding that could worsen fears of U.S. decline, the share of Americans struggling to put food on the table is now three times as large as the share of the Chinese population in the same position.

I remember when I was a kid, my mom would tell me to clean my plate because there were starving kids in China. I wonder what Chinese mothers now tell their kids?

1. Really not a fair comparison at all.
Then again, consider the source.

4. Not the be a news snob but the source is a blogger on Yahoo.
Do I need to explain the difference?

6. The source is Gallup Research, not a blogger on Yahoo.

The source of the news is Gallup Research. That news is being reported by a Yahoo Blogger. The source of the data is not the same as the reporter of the data, I'm sure I don't have to explain the difference to you.

The distinction between professional journalist and mere blogger has been forever erased. All reporting must now be judged solely on the content and methodology and not on the source.

5. I can't get too jealous
considering how polluted many of the parts of that country have become.

Of course, the US is no picnic, but our ambient pollution levels are somewhat less, if only for the reason that we have no industry left, so to speak. But then we got GMO.

Pick your poison.

If you can afford it.

7. Sadly, we all eat the poison...
it's just how slow it kills you.

You are one of the lucky few if you live long enough to die of "natural causes" as opposed to something getting you.

8. China one of few other countries where health care bills can wipe out a person
I understand China is one of the few other countries where a health problem can result in bills that can wipe out a family financially.
