Ten fugging years later
1,689 American and countless citizens' lives later and there is no success.
In the name of peace get the hell out of Afghanstan and Iraq. Use the money to rebuild America

3. Oh, but we must protect the oil companies' interests
by sacrificing the lives of young 99% men and women.

If corporations were regulated and prevented from buying political candidates. maybe we could avoid wars like this.

5. So much death and destruction...
These links are to photographs of some of our dead soldiers. War? What is it good for? Absolutely, nothing.

12. Sadly, the money has been spent. :(
we are now so far down the hole, that even if we pulled out tomorrow, we would still be fucked.

but then again, we would stop bombing people so that's a plus.

13. Also, pulling out now would prevent us from wasting another 2 bil next week.
We are indeed deep in the hole, but it can always get worse.

16. What is success? What did we go in there to do in the place?
It was all lies. All of it. Supposedly to get Bin Ladin, or maybe it was to save the women, or maybe we didn't like the Mullahs or maybe we wanted to cram Democracy down their throats, or maybe it was the oil pipeline, or maybe God ordered Bush to invade them, or maybe fucking what?

17. Amen. What a fricking waste.
As I watch F18's buzz downtown SF in a fantastic show of ... what? I am wondering if this special treatment is reserved for liberal cities?

Show of patriotic power beauty, or who's your daddy? Some sleep feeling safer by this military might, some get nightmares.

18. German Gen. Kujat, responsible for Afghan planning, declares mission a failure
German General Says NATO Mission Has 'Failed'
"The mission fulfilled the political aim of showing solidarity with the United States," Kujat told the German daily Mitteldeutsche Zeitung. "But if you measure progress against the goal of stabilizing a country and a region, then the mission has failed."

The former head of Germany's armed forces also gives reason why no one should believe the fictitious 2014 'withdrawal'- date.

"If we withdraw from Afghanistan in 2014," said Kujat, "then the Taliban will take over power again within just a few months."

That is the truth that the Generals know already, but politicians are keeping under their hats as a big surprise for you all in 2013-14. They're not leaving and they've been lying to you the whole time.
