Fox News - "House Liberal Says Obama’s Chances of Reelection ‘Very Tough’" - Progressive Fox News?
I know a lot of folks say that Fox News is right wing or conservative. But, contrary to these claims, it seems that Fox News has been among the most consistent news outlets in giving voice to liberal outrage at Democrats. Could it be that Fox News is actually...progressive?

http://nation.foxnews.com/president-obama/2011/08/19/house-liberal-says-obama-s-chances-reelection-very-tough

Outspoken House liberal Rep. Peter DeFazio rates President Obama’s chances of getting reelected in 2012 as “very tough.”

DeFazio (D-Ore.), a founding member of the House Progressive Caucus, blasted Obama for conceding to Republicans on important issues such as the debt ceiling.

“The Republicans telegraphed to they were going to use a fake crisis over the debt limit in order to muscle some major spending reductions or other things on to him. And that was in December. And what happens? Suddenly he flip-flops and concedes everything to the Republicans,” DeFazio said in comments reported Thursday by Portland’s KGW News. “Fight? I don’t think it’s a word in his vocabulary.”

2. But Faux does recognize that the progressive discontent will
help the Republicans. Thus they will cover it and exaggerate it.

5. Seriously
FoxNews will report on any story that portrays any disagreement in the Democratic/Liberal community. Anyone who thinks this is Faux being "progressive" also probably thinks Grover Norquist is a friend to liberals, in other words "Firebaggers."

4. Your demonization of progressives will fail to win Obama any support. On the contrary,
you repel people.

6. Check it out for yourself! Fox Has Been Steadfast In Its Support...
Edited on Sun Aug-21-11 08:15 PM by TomCADem
Of liberals with a beef against Democrats. Why should we be afraid to accept their help?

Indeed, among all the major media outlets, has any been more consistent in its support and expression of liberal outrage at Democrats?

8. Keep it up, friend.
If you want to drive more people away from Obama, just keep sliming and flailing away.

11. Thanks for the encouragement! I Was Shocked Too, To Find Such Progressive Stories
I thought some folks might find this disconcerting, but like you I think that the fact these progressive stories can even be found on Fox News will show how widespread liberal discontent is with President Obama.

I was just checking out Fox to see the latest idiocy being spouted by the right wing, and instead came across these stories giving voice to liberal outrage. I was shocked!

A noted right winger and a liberal firebrand on Fox News was actually a deliberate effort by the right wing undermine support of liberals for Democrats?

Really? Really?

27. ....
THE EXTREME LEFT!!!!

a. A term for Democrats who want the party to return to the 2008 Democratic platform, instead of drifting further towards the 2008 Republican platform.

b. A term used by right-wingers to make their right-wing policies seem "centrist"

25. I don't watch FOX. My criticisms, of President Obama, are meant to be constructive.

I'm hopeful, other people, on this forum, want to constructively criticize President Obama.

It's sad when our attempts at constructive criticism are twisted to help those we don't like.

It's sad when we are lead to believe President Obama does not hear our words.

I had such great hopes for President Obama.
I still do, if only he would lead and become more liberal.

People say the 2012 election will be difficult. The economy will be bad.
Many will be unemployed. There will be a feeling of discontent. I agree.

I think the Republicans will make President Obama's impotence a major campaign issue.
I watched parts of Hard Ball with Chris Matthews. The Republican chairman said as much.
He said, and I admit to paraphrasing, President Obama wasn't a leader.

Never mind President Obama's inability to lead means we are suffering from Republican policies.
Rather than spend our way out of Recession, the Republican are having us tighten our belts.
Rather than tax the rich, we cut the social safety net.
Rather than force corporations to create jobs in the U. S., we let them outsource with impunity.

It may be Republican policies, but President Obama is the President. The buck stops with him.
The economy and unemployment are happening on President Obama's watch.

It's hard to look on the bright side, to think the Republicans will nominate someone, unelectable.
I don't want Perry or Bachmann in the White House. I fear they will destroy the social safety net.
They will continue the Republican policies lengthening and deepening the Recession.

Do I really want to vote for the lesser of two evils?
Why can't President Obama become a leader?
Why can't President Obama become more liberal?

People may view this as harmful criticism, but how else can I say what I believe.
It is only harmful criticism if President Obama refuses to change his ways.
President Obama still has time. I hope. I hope President Obama still has time.

They saw an oppurtunity to bash Obama by having a democrat do it, and you think that makes them progressive.
