Excellent online tool: Instapaper

Instapaper: A simple tool to save web pages for reading later.

I stumble upon so many websites and articles I want to save for later reading, and needed a better way to organize -- and access -- them beyond bookmarking.

This tool is AWESOME. It's free, first of all (though donations are welcome). After registering, you can insert an icon in your browsing toolbar area, and when you come across an article or webpage you want to check out later, just click the Instapaper icon.

Secondly, if you have Kindle or any of the other fancy gadgets, you can download these saved articles/sites for reading on these devices.

There are probably other cool features that I have yet to discover, but I highly recommend this for fellow research geeks.

12. There are also a couple of Firefox extensions that are similar

I've been getting good use out of Read It Later -- one click to save a temporary bookmark in a searchable list, one click to remove it again -- and I'm also trying out list.it, which lets you save both links and notes in a sidebar.

As well as stuff you don't have the time to read immediately, these are very good for situations where you're collecting a bunch of reviews and price comparisons on something you want to buy and need time to figure out the best deal.
