John Kerry plans re-election run for 2014, calls secretary of state ambitions, rumors
Sen. John Kerry plans re-election run for 2014, calls secretary of state ambitions ‘rumors’

John Kerry says he is planning to run for a sixth term in the U.S. Senate and has begun fundraising for his 2014 campaign.

When asked, Kerry told reporters in Boston on Thursday, “this is the job I want. This is the job I’m enjoying doing.”

The Massachusetts Democrat also dismissed rumors he was positioning to be appointed secretary of state if President Barack Obama is re-elected in 2012.

2. More power to him
wanting to represent a state where its people (and media) will always unfavorably compare him to Kennedy, where some feel our President is the only one to be trusted in DC, or just ones who complain he is not morphing into someone like Sanders or Kucinich, (on the debt ceiling bill). Why they are not more harder on Porno Brown and the GOP is mindboggling.

Like our president, the job seems thankless IMO, but it is all good MA got this! :kick:

3. There are people that unrecommend this?!?!?
I understabd not recommending, but UNRECOMMEND? Why? It's pure informational. You don't think he is a good senator for MA? Amazing, really... or to use a phrase often used by Kerry "stunning"

4. My recommend boosted it to +1
It was +1 right before I recommended it, so apparently an Unrec'er and I clicked together.

I don't get it either, Inuca.

It is interesting that he wants to represent the people in that state, but the people in that state do not seem to represent him back.

With the way some are reacting to/tweeting, he will have to get down on his knees and say "I am running for the Senate in MA, not SOS" ten times.

Maybe they can have Alexander and Corker, and Teabagger Reps representing them, then they will learn to respect their Senior Senator.

8. Whatever he does, I support him 100%. He'd be a great SoS and he's already a fine Senator.
