Dem leader: Alleged shooter sought 'Second Amendment remedy'
Rep. James Clyburn said it is impossible not to connect fiery campaign rhetoric to the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.).

The number three-ranking House Democrat invoked the rhetoric of a Tea Party Senate candidate in describing the actions of the man accused of shooting Giffords (D-Ariz.).

"He saw a Second Amendment remedy and that's what occurred here and there is no way not to make that connection," Clyburn said during an interview with the Charleston Post and Courier.

Clyburn was channeling the words of Republican Senate candidate Sharron Angle, who challenged Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) last year.
During her campaign against Reid (D-Nev.), Angle said that the Second Amendment of the Constitution, which grants the right to bear arms, is intended to help people "stop tyranny."

"I'm hoping that we're not getting to Second Amendment remedies. I hope the vote will be the cure for the Harry Reid problems," she said.

1. Thank you Rep. Clyburn
He's not known for making statements to inflame. So thanks to one of America's great reps for making that connection publicly.

2. Anyone who can not connect those to things
is either a tea bagger or horribly ignorance. Now ignorance is not necessarily a bad thing, as long as you are making an effort to learn.

5. It IS impossible not to make the connection
But goddammit if the popular media and their Republican pals aren't determined to try!
