problems shows us just how dysfunctional our partisan approach to politics has become.
I can remember when Tip O'Neill and Ronald Reagan could get together and give a little take a little to hammer out an agreement.
Now that the "boomers", my generation, are firmly in power, it's a my way or the highway approach from at least a good part of the right.
There are few people outside of marginalized liberals on the "left" who hold this approach to politics as we just saw in their recent capitulation. (Dare I compare the GOP to crying and fussing children in a restaurant?)
I don't know about you but this idea of a super committee frightens me to no end.
It's basically saying that the congress we have has given up and are willing to turn over responsibility to this so-called super committee. It gives these cowards a place to put the blame for anything that goes wrong.
"Hey, I would have wanted it another way but you know that Super committee, eye roll here, those schmucks just don't get it. But my hands were tied, What could I do..."
This crap is dangerous and marginalizes the people even more.
I don't like it, I am really upset that our leadership agreed to such a gimmick and I am about this close to crawling into my hole and become a misanthrope.
Shit, why don't they just call out the superfriens while they are at it...
