Treasonous

Now that the debt ceiling fiasco is coming to a close one thing is certain. This debate has shown all that is ugly in America and is calling the functionality of our Democracy into question. How can anyone ever say that American Democracy exists when a small band of selfish, idiotic ideologues can hold the whole country hostage to achieve their selfish aims when a huge majority of Americans do not support them?? On both sides of the aisle the greed and hatred of country shown by one side and the cowardice and complicity shown by the other not only is disgraceful but with all that hung in the balance for our country in my view it was treasonous.

And while the zealots on the Republican side won and got what they wanted hopefully Americans have seen exactly how they feel about their country. Nothing mattered to them but to exempt themselves and their fellow elites from sacrificing anything to clean up the mess they made. Nobody was free from their ire not even the elderly, children and the folks thirty years of their policies had bankrupted.

While we expect Republicans to be selfish ideologues who constantly seek ways to lower wages, worsen working conditions, ship jobs overseas and keep Corporate America from sharing the spoils of their labors with workers it is even shocking to me the depths they would sink to insure that is done. But then again I guess it should not have. They have already shown that they would sacrifice the American economy for their own greed by crashing it. However somehow this episode seemed much more sinister.

1. Treason defined, in terms of our government:
Constitution of The United States
Article 3, Section 3

"Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court."

One of the most misused terms - ever.

2. Tea Party Traitors.
And sniveling, caving Dems.

What a corrupting, catastrophic combo.

3. Such is the difference
between a representative Republic and a majority rules democracy.
