October 2010 - Republicans are frothing at the mouth to shut down the government
I'm listening to the Best of the Left podcast from October 19th, 2010... almost 10 long months ago. Episode 419: "The asylum is holding elections, don't let the inmates be the only voters".

(I'm trying to catch up!)

And in it, Rachel has an entire segment on how the Republicans running are frothing at the mouth for a government shutdown. Cenk has an entire segment showing Republicans, word-for-word, parroting RW talking points across the media spectrum.

It's disgusting... and entirely predictable. It was screamed from the rooftops for months before the vote today. MONTHS.

Just like the union-busting in Wisconsin and Ohio, and the drug testing of "welfare" recipients in Florida.

2. Boner was on CBS saying that despite the acrimony on teevee they all actually get along purty well.

Hopefully he was just trying to rub salt in our wounds, but who knows?

3. It's hard to be bipartisan with a vacuum.
Best case scenario, you get massive hickies.

4. They just got what they wanted, though. But that's good because they're are friends now.
Everyone liked this bill. Except 50% of the Democratic Party.
