It is easier to take over the powers of state govt. Look at what the GOP has done in OH, NJ,FL, MI AND WI. The state legislatures have given unprecedented dictatorial powers to governors especially over the disposition of public assets. In Benton Harbor, the CEO OF WHIRLPOOL has threatened the people against protesting too loud about TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION, and said that he would move his jobs if they don't stop embarrassing his company.

Reid cannot give in to the TPARTY on the debt crisis in order to live to fight another day. There may not be another day if the TPARTY NATION evolves and the republic devolves. And the birthers were worried that Obama was born in Kenya. The enemy is within and they are the TPARTY ideologues.

August check because it comes on the first. Still leaves SS hanging, if the debt ceiling isn't increased it will be up to the Treasury. Now Sept. is a different matter if it still isn't settled but at that point there might be even bigger problems if they take it that far.
