Entire Apple stores being faked in China

At first, it looks like a sleek Apple store. Sales assistants in blue T-shirts with the company's logo chat to customers. Signs advertising the iPad 2 hang from the white walls. Outside, the famous logo sits next to the words "Apple Store."

And that's the clue it's fake.

China, long known for producing counterfeit consumer gadgets, software and brand name clothing, has reached a new piracy milestone — fake Apple stores.

The 27-year-old blogger, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the set-up of the stores was so convincing that the employees themselves seemed to believe they worked for Apple.

2. Here's the thing: I torrent a Britney Spears album and I could lose my house. Here we have....
...a country, China, which- let's not fool ourselves- is possibly the biggest criminal venture when it comes to knocking off products and copyright infringement and they have top trading status with us.

See, that has struck me as weird for the last decade or so when I became aware of just how China works on this level. Which is basically "Fuck You". I'm not saying I agree with current copyright law (I don't) but I always think it's "funny" how they never go after the real institutions, just the little fish they can catch and fry up real easy.

4. If you torrent Britney Spears, you deserve to lose your house

Since you would have clearly already lost your mind and taste as well.

You should probably be taken in for observation on top of that.

Perhaps aliens invaded last night and replaced everything in the world with an exact replica of itself.

We could even be on the wrong planet.

8. UPDATE: Fake Apple stores story could be a fake

http://www.channelregister.co.uk/2011/07/21/fake_apple_stores/

But another 10 seconds with Google would reveal that in China, as in the UK and many other countries, Apple has a network of authorised resellers.

This is correct. I was amazed to see what was otherwise an Apple store in a shopping mall in Singapore.

10. China has fake cities too
they keep building complete cities that would house millions, yet there is nobody living in them. The largest mall in the world is empty except for a toy store and a few maintenance people.

And they keep building them. Eerie indeed.
