[July16th-20th]

This is my 122nd post, even though I only signed on here four days ago.

I'm hooked.

Two of the three DUers I know warned me about posting too much, too soon. But I can't help myself. I feel compelled to comment whenever I see an important issue being discussed. I have also been driven to start several threads.

Of course, it doesn't hurt that this website gives me a community, a place to go, when Friday will mark the end of my 26-year career with the greatest Agency the United States Government has ever had. (No pity requested: My pension plan is solid. Unless the Refucks block the country into default, in which case, hey, we're ALL screwed.)

I guess what I'm trying to say is...So far, so good: I like this place and I hope I can stay!

with the way Congress is cutting right and left to pay for their war-mongering, I wouldn't count on it. Re your retirement, I've seen the same thing happen to friends here in the Houston area - although most here were already contractors for NASA so they knew the writing was on the wall and were making plans. It's only a message board. If it comes to a point where your feelings get hurt because of something someone said or did, then you're taking it too seriously. Also, if it comes to a point when you're getting too heated over something and you actually lose sleep over it or dwell on it in real life, then you're taking it too seriously.

I am very disgusted with our nation handing over space exploration to the private industry. JFK is rolling over in his grave. It is sad that this is taking place under a Democratic administration. Public education is probably next on their privatization list.
