I've never liked Haperin, but how could he

be so clueless? Isn't he a major executive at TIME magazine? I actually had a tiny bit of respect left for that publication until now.

And here's the sad part....it sounds like Joe S. knew right away that this wasn't good. Halperin didn't, and basically had to have the facts of life explained to him as if he were a kindergartner. He looks like he's in his fifties, he has a very responsible job.

I've never like him because of his obvious rightwing slant, but jeez...how did he make it this far?

1. The thing that bothers me is the discussion ahead of time regarding

the seven second delay, and then Joe said after the "dick" remark.."I was only kidding." Joe encouraged Halperin to state what he thought about the speech and then said he was kidding? Joe is as much to blame here as Helperin. The laughing by Mika and Joe after the slur was disgusting.

3. I really am not offended that he called the president a dick

I don't think the president is a dick and it doesn't make me mad.

I did think that Bush was a dick and no one ever called him that on National TV so I'm kind of pissed that no one called out the the guy I thought was a dick on National TV.

and this exposed his true nature, not to mention who begins an apology with "all joking aside..."

6. Yes, exactly.

He comes off as a smug, self righteous , serious "journalist" with no bias, but he doesn't realize that he is very obviously slanted. Even before this, he wasn't fooling anyone. He also always impressed me before as having no personality or sense of humor.

7. Just a reminder

Ed Shultz was suspended for calling Laura Ingram a slut and she is not the President. This should happen on both sides to be fair. I don't understand why people are sticking up for him and tore Ed apart when he said his comment. Sometimes I think the progressives are like the media there to create problems and enjoy controversy.
