Gov. Scott Walker announced earlier this week that he would be signing the 2011-'13 budget bill this weekend at a private business based in Green Bay.
What Walker's office didn't say is that the chief executive officer of the company, Badger Sheet Metal Works, was convicted of six felony counts of income tax evasion in the mid-1990s.
Gregory A. DeCaster served three months behind bars for the convictions. DeCaster also was sentenced to two years of supervised released and fined $10,000.
"It was a horrible thing to go through," DeCaster said in an interview today. He placed the blame for the tax problems on a former bookkeeper but said he had to do time because his name was on the tax returns.

Birds of a feather, and all that.
