I would like to see "Fighter" Anthony Weiner come out now
I'd like to see him do another press conference calling the GOP hypocrites. Vitter is still a senator and I don't see them calling for his resignation. If the People of NY want him, then he should still be their representative. I'd also like to see him call his fellow democrats gutless and cowards for throwing him under the bus so quickly.

11. It's ridiculous
The whole thing is a waste of time and energy. We need to focus on the ECONOMY! Not what senators are doing to wreck their marriages.

2. I hope he can make a comeback... it Clinton did, he can. He is a tough Democrat. He needs to get
over this indiscretion and get back to work, more fierce than
ever.

6. Yep and that's why he is or soon will be toast.
It's sad because I think he's basically a good person but he sure failed the decency test on this fiasco.

4. Agreed. I think his constituents will vote for him. NYers are not so
'shocked' by sex as others seem to be. Not so long ago, eg, Democrats were willing to toss another great Congressman, Charlie Rangel out of fear of what the rightwing might think of them. Charlie, being afighter, a war hero in fact, knew that the people who mattered most were his constituents, and they re-elected him despite all the predictions that he could not survive.

America needs to get over its 'sex' problem and grow up. Breitbart is the problem, NOT Weiner, it's amazing to see how mixed up our priorities are. But if it is left to the people, I think Weiner, like Clinton and Barney Frank, both fighters, unwilling to cave in to the sick obsession with sex of the far right, both survived and went on to make their tormentors look like the morons they are.

7. You bet.
He should offer to resign when Diaper Dave Vitter does. And when Newt Gingrich quits politics and goes away forever.

9. Throw what in their face?
Any chance at the offense was on the ship that sailed about a week ago...

Should he claim that he is just as much of a liar as they are?

21. Weiner is not going to come out fighting
He apologized to Breitbart and is in the process of calling Democrats to apologize. There is likely much more to the story.

If Weiner truly believed this was a personal matter, and that the revelations were simply embarrassing, he should have responded accordingly. He did the exact opposite. He doubled down and lied, vocally and publicly for several days, indicating he was not at fault.

His immediate actions weren't of someone who was embarrassed, but his press conference had embarrassment written all over it, including the apology to Breitbart.

If he was going to play the embarrassed role, he should have stepped out of the public spotlight for a few days, made no comment, and then try to put it to rest.
