7. I have to admit

I am totally fascinated with Tornadoes having never seen one. I just can't imagine it..and watching videos of Storm Chasers filming them.. They are an awesome power of Nature..and not something you see everyday. The fact there have been winds strong enough to propel a piece of hay though glass, is incredible feat of physics.

They are also very devastating and can do incredible damage and are so deadly. The fact they are so unpredictable, can hop from one place to the next, destroy one house and leave the one across the street intact.

I have been in a major earthquake, have been in floods, seen mudslides, forest fires, and even a volcano from a distance. I have never seen, except on film, a Tsunami, Hurricane nor an Tornado. Hurricanes and Tsunami would be hard to avoid, but sitting in a car watching a Tornado would be an incredible experience, so long as its a long, long distance away.

For everyone in those areas, please stay safe...

9. Tornadoes are so unpredictable. They can blow up quickly and change
directions quickly and disappear just as fast. They are the forces of wind and water combine with what is sucked up from the earth. The day I brought my newborn son home from the hospital we nearly were hit with one. I laid the baby down in the bassinet and heard the train, I thought. Had a fleeting thought that the train should be going through any more since they had stopped that route, and then my brother burst in the door and told me to get the kids out. I looked up and saw a funnel cloud coming across the field toward the trailer we were renting. The funnel cloud barreled across the field and lifted up at the edge of the yard, bounced over several blocks, and touched down a couple of blocks from my mother's home. Dropped a huge old tree on this fellow's house and nearly landed on him in his recliner. It was scary. They do sound like a train.
