If, say, Bill Gates told you all health care costs for you and your family would be covered starting
tomorrow, how would that change your life?

Would you take more risks? Maybe start up a business? Quit your job and try and make a move, start a new life in a US region you've never lived before? Volunteer? Retire?

1. Yes, it would, drastically
because I could stop living like a person in poverty, afraid to spend money that isn't necessary because I never know when my body will betray me again.

2. It would be a nice boost to my paycheck.
I pay an awful lot of money for that shit and I almost never use it. I would enjoy being able to take a vacation again.

5. Don't worry; one day, you'll need it, and when you do, you will be at great risk of losing it
as a consequence.

6. This is the thing; when people who need to see the doctor, DON'T,
they suffer worse health outcomes, and secondarily, they put a greater stress on society than they would have had they seen the doctor. I guess this is a lesson that society just needs to relearn every 600 years or so...? (Unfortunately.)

7. I would have relief from the stress of going to hospital
and not having to file bankruptcy and I would also look more seriously into starting a business.

8. What does Bill Gates have to do with this issue?
Not sure there is a correlation.

Has he made some statement to the effect that he is going to sell his huge home, divest himself of his billions and see to it that all his money goes to lobbying for Single Payer Universal HC?

9. Since I have a chrionic illness, it would free up a HUGE amount of money (even though I'm insured)
to buy a new car, take a vacay, and/or maybe even buy a home.
