Here in WI it is imperative that the recall of Walker succeed, otherwise there will be hell to pay.
As bad as it is now, and will become by the end of the year, if a recall of Walker does not succeed it will make what is happening currently seem like a Sunday school picnic. Walker and his minions will look upon a failed recall of the governor as a confirmation by the voters of Wisconsin of their policies and will proceed as though they have a mandate from on high.

Here in Wisconsin this recall of Walker will be as important to this state as the election of a president. This time, no excuses. Everyone who opposes Walker's policies, Democrats, Republicans, Independents, need to not only sign the recall petitions but to get out to the polls and vote. I don't care how many are disappointed, disillusioned, or pissed with Obama--GET OUT AND VOTE!!!.

2. And get people registered. Contact your municipal clerk and become a voter registration officer. ..
...voter ID will be in place by the Jan 2012 election, and with all the Republican efforts to suppress votes, it is more important than ever that we get people registered and to the polls.

5. If these votes go to electronic tabulators, kiss fair elections
goodbye. This is where the stealing occurs. How many times do we have to say that if the vote is stolen, there is no reason to vote. Perhaps that is what we should do, just refuse to vote until the reason is clear to everybody in the state and the country. Wisconsin has been fighting; they need to find out how votes are counted at the state level. Most, if not all, red states control those central tabulators. In order to correct the abominable snow vote, we need to do as Oregon does. Paper ballots, fairly counted by hand. Takes longer, that's all.

8. "just refuse to vote"--well that would be the Republicans' wet dream.
Wisconsin has not long been a red state. Republicans are not omnipotent, having absolute power to steal any election they choose.

If Democrats are really that feckless that Republicans can continually steal elections with impunity then something is definitely wrong with that picture. More is needed than a constant bleating about stolen election every time a close election is lost. If I allow somebody to consistently pick my pocket ultimately I am the one who looks foolish and stupid.

7. I stand firmly behind you Wisconsinites
I used to think that Gov. Sewer of AZ was the country's worst governor but Walker, by far, is the worst (and he has some close seconds.)

19. WI is not like CA -- There's a primary, even...
Edited on Tue May-24-11 08:41 PM by JackRiddler
Assuming enough valid signatures are gathered, the recall election is held 6 weeks later. However, if there are multiple candidates standing to challenge Walker, instead a primary is held amongst them on that date. If a person wins a majority in the primary, that person will be the sole challenger to Walker. Otherwise the top two vote-getters in the primary will go on the ballot against Walker four weeks later.

13. Well I hope this means that if Walker, et. al., STEAL
another election in Wisconsin, there'll be hell to pay in the streets.

But I doubt that that's what you meant.

17. Walker and his thugs did not GET their jobs due to election fraud.
They got their jobs because too many Democrats were in a snit about one thing or another and did not bother to vote, and that helped to defeat Feingold as well. I did vote last fall and if more Democrats had done the same we would not be in this fix now.

Republicans are not omnipotent and all powerful in this state, and I do not believe they have the ability to steal elections at will. I for one do not cry "election fraud" every time there is a Democratic loss. Sometimes people actually prefer the Republican and sometimes, like last November, it was because Democrats chose not to vote in the numbers that the Republicans did.
