The President is making a God-awful, boring speech. I wish he would just announce what he has to
say - and then give all the details. I have lost interest. I can't help but wonder if President Clinton were announcing the exact same thing - if it would not be short, concise, and easy to understand. I believe even Saint Ronnie, the Great Communicator - could do better.

Sorry, all those that this will make angry, but this is how I feel.

1. short, concise - not two things I recall from the Clinton years

Incredibly articulate, but Bill did love his (extended) teaching moments.

Any idea what the announcement is for us cube farmers?

5. And I wasted a total of about 10 seconds
actually reading this. Don't know why, I knew it was going to be pointless but I did it anyway.... now it's up to about 45 seconds because I felt compelled to respond to what must be the most God awful boring OP in the history of DU.

Fuck, pretty soon I'm going to have to get to work, thanks for wasting a minute of my lunch hour.

9. Actually, nobody but me. But that is what a majority of DU is about. It allows us to spout off our
opinions which may or - probably are not - of interest to others.

8. Bill was nevrer known for giving speeches that were "short, consise and easy to understand"
In 1996, Clinton gave a 76 minute State of the Union address.

Bill was well known as a talker ... and here is how Slate put it back in 2004.

12. Is he still talking about the Middle East? Or has he switched to New Jersey?

"Too many in the region wake up with few expectations other than making it through the day, and perhaps the hope that their luck will change. Throughout the region, many young people have a solid education, but closed economies leave them unable to find a job. Entrepreneurs are brimming with ideas, but corruption leaves them unable to profit from them."

23. Bill Clinton give a short concise speech? It ain't in his DNA
He first came to national prominence by giving an incredibly long winded and boring speech at the 1988 Democratic Convention. It was so bad that many beltway talking heads were opining that he could never overcome the speech and go anywhere in seeking national office.
