Scandal involving drug task force takes strange twist
PLEASANT HILL, Calif. (AP) — The scandal involving a Northern California drug task force took another odd twist Thursday after the attorney representing Christopher Butler, a private investigator charged in the case, said the ousted commander of the task force ran a brothel.

Butler leased office space for a massage parlor in Pleasant Hill for several months between 2009 and 2010 at the request of Norman Wielsch, according to William Gagen, the attorney for Butler.

Wielsch, 50, was the commander of the Central Contra Costa Narcotics Enforcement Team. He and Butler, 49, were arrested in February on suspicion of stealing and selling drug evidence seized by the task force. Both are free on bail after pleading not guilty in the case.
