Draft Russ Feingold / petition
Draft Russ Feingold

Earlier today, Democratic Sen. Herb Kohl announced he was retiring after 24 years in Washington.

Thankfully, there's a progressive champion waiting in the wings to step up and keep this seat for the Democrats in 2012: Russ Feingold.

I don't need to tell you about Russ or his progressive legacy -- the only Senator to vote against the Patriot Act, a national leader for campaign finance reform and against the war in Iraq, and so much more.

He was swept out in last year's Republican wave, but now more than ever we need a progressive champion like Russ fighting for middle class Americans in the Senate.

3. Nobody wants Feingold in the Senate
more than those of us in Wisconsin who lost him as our Senator do... but he is so NOT a petition kind of man.

When the time is right Russ Feingold will do whatever he's going to do, petitions or no petitions. We just have to wait and respect his decision. :patriot:

7. If Feingold were to be re-elected Wisconsin would have the distinction
of having the smartest Senator in the country and the dumbest Senator in the country AT THE SAME TIME.

:applause:

8. Good point. It would be cruel to subject Russ to having to work with him.
I would like fuckface recalled, too. I will be looking into that.

10. Oh, I don't think he will do anything...
Dumbass will basically spend 6 years making vacuous statements about sunspots and his daughters nursing career and doing nothing.

Feingold is amazingly gracious around Republicans. He could handle it. He knows everyone knows he's smarter.

But next time I'm going to be a lot more worried about who is counting the votes in Waukesha county on election night.

11. I just signed up with my local clerk to work on election days. In Waukesha County.
Today, in fact when I paid my water bill. :)

15. Feingold got beat here because too many Democrats stayed at home and did not vote.
That's how we got Walker here as our governor as well. It's time that Democrats support their candidates as much with their votes as their mouths.

16. Yeah that too. The point is that 2010 wasn't a normal circumstance.
