3. The diagnosis of dementia worries me the most about her. If it's Alzheimers (the most common
cause of dementia) that is a fatal disease and usually it doesn't take very long to die of it either :(

I wish her the best and hope that when she does get to heaven, she will find peace and happiness there in abundance.

4. I just keep thinking of all she has struggled with in her life - the drug addiction, depression,
the emotional scars that must have come from having been born to a prostitute (not exactly a stable family there.)

She went through all that and still gave her amazing voice to this world.

I've been thinking lately how we all go through life with our own struggles and our own wounds and I kind of feel sorry for the whole lot of us. I have these hopes that heaven will be a better place that earth though.

6. I echo your honest sentiments and feelings.....
about the whole lot of us.

Just the other night I was listening to Earth, Wind and Fire's: "That's The Way of The World"

Made me feel better. In fact, that may well be the most important contribution that musicians, artists and poets make through their inspiration....to help us feel better in this most imperfect world.

((((Etta))))

7. Alzheimer's takes a long time.
It was probably 15 years for my mother (pathology proven).

8. I knew she was not well. Hope she is comfortable
and cared for. She was one of our nation's diamonds in the rough. A great talent.
