Is There A Way To Post A Microsoft Word Document? I Have A Gift For The Board
Edited on Mon May-09-11 11:31 AM by ChoppinBroccoli
In the interest of full disclosure, I actually stole this idea from whoever the guy was in Wisconsin who had the sign on his truck with the picture of Scott Walker, and the caption, "Does this ASS make my truck look big?" Well, I thought it was such a stroke of genius that I just HAD to steal the idea. I've made some of those very same bumper stickers for my fellow Ohioans that feature John Kasich's picture on them. The program I used to make them saved them in Microsoft Word format, so all you need to do is open them and print them onto bumper sticker paper (available at almost any office supply store) and they can go right on your car today.

I wanted to post them to the board as a gift for anyone who wants to show solidarity with us here in Ohio against this horror show of a Governor we have, but I can't figure out a way to post a Word document. Does anyone know how this can be done? Thanks.

4. I Just Tried To Use Google Documents, But My File Was Too Big
Google Documents only allows you to upload a Word document that is 1 MB. Mine is 1.45 MB. So it didn't work, but good suggestion.

5. Yeah, But I Made A Printable Bumper Sticker Out Of It
So people can just print it right out and stick it on their cars. I guess if there's no way to post a Word document, I could just tell people how to do it. It's really easy.

6. Just scan the Word doc as a .jpg or .tif (change format) and post that on Photobucket or one of the

other on-line photo sites.

It's easy to change the formatting if you have a scanner - in fact you don't need the scanner, just recopy the .word doc into a new document and change the save as formatting to .jpg or .tif, then send it to an on-line host site. P.S. - Correction - changing Word format to .jpg or .tif is not an option inside Word, but you can save into a new document as "webpage" - see below.

9. If you do the direct conversion from .word, you may need to convert to a webpage -
that is also a hostable format on Photobucket (I believe). Otherwise, you may need a scanner to convert.

8. You can upload it to a free file server
then provide the download link here.

Here's one: http://www.megaupload.com/

It will give the download link when the upload is finished.

10. OK, I Think I Have A Solution
I just used my scanner to create a .jpg file and will be uploading it to Photobucket in a moment (the link will follow as soon as I'm done).

However, for the people who would like to make their own (so you can change the picture or edit the text to your liking or whatever), here's the process:

1. Go to this link and download the bumper sticker templates of your choice (you can download in either Microsoft Word or Microsoft Works format): http://www.nashua.com/Resources/PpTemplates.aspx?Selected=Resources

2. Once you've got the templates, find a picture of the person you want on the sticker (I used Google Images for the picture of Kasich I used) and save that to your computer. Chances are you're going to need to edit the photo so that it's square (same number of vertical and horizontal pixels), or it could throw off the size of your sticker.

3. Open your bumper sticker template.

4. Click on the sample image on the template, go to "Insert," scroll down to "Picture," and then click on "From File."

5. Locate the picture you saved and then click the "Insert" button.

6. Go into the text section of the template and change it to whatever you want it to say. You may have to play with the font and the font sizes in order to get the text to look the way you want.

7. Save and print.

13. Mary Fallin goes on mine
but it would be a difficult decision because of so many worthy candidates like both of my senators, all or our reps. Man its going to be tough but I'll figure it out.

On second thought I think a bobble head doll would fit our governor though.
