Donald Trump cancels David Letterman chat after 'racist' accusation

Donald Trump cancels David Letterman chat after 'racist' accusation

What's the reason behind this move? As Trump points out, it has everything to do with the fact that Dave considered some of his questioning of President Obama's credentials to be "racist" behavior:

"I was disappointed to hear the statements you made about me last night on your show that I was a 'racist.' In actuality, nothing could be further from the truth and there is nobody who is less of a racist than Donald Trump. Based upon your statements, and despite the fact that we have always done so well together, especially in your ratings, I am canceling my May 18th appearance on your show.

"... Please inform your staff that I will likewise not do the 'top ten' list that they had been trying to set up

28. McCain canceled on same day and lied about why, in a way easily caught
and that was why Letterman was so hard on him.
McCain had made it sound like he had to rush back to Washington for emergency (financial). But he went to another interview in same building or something

Still he will mock trump because trump is just so mockable

6. I've noticed that those who refer to themselves in the third person
have gigantic ego problems. Generally speaking, that is.

Interesting how he issued that statement AFTER the dinner jokes last night, and not before.

17. I must say, tblue37 agrees wholeheartedly with this observation. Of course,
tblue37 is an exception to that general rule, because tblue37 must use the third person when referring to herself.

You see, she decided some time ago that she could no longer live with herself if she started referring to herself in the third person, but then she couldn't figure out whom else to live with, so she went back to living with herself, but since tblue37 was already there, she became the second tblue37, so whenever speaking about the first tblue37, she must refer to tblue37 in the third person, because if she used the second person, you would assume she was talking about you!

tblue37 is very sorry for this distraction.

33. "You" is the second person. tblue37 is not in the second person. She is in the
third person. I hope that is clear for you now. (No insult intended, of course. It is not your fault that you are in the second person! Not everyone can be in the third person, though, to be precise, "everyone" is in the third person.)

I'm torn because I can't stand trump and want him to go away... but it's such fodder for the comedians right now. And if it pisses him off that just makes me even happier. if trump truly wants to be in a public office, then he is going to have to accept criticism and can't just get mad anyone says anything he doesn't like and huff off like a little baby. grow the hell up asshole.

35. And he sure can't solve national or international crises by shouting "yer FIRED."
That's not gonna cut it, donny-boy. You're not even ready for the Little League, much less the biggest of the BIG LEAGUES - Presidential politics and their ramifications for geopolitics.

That's why these numb-nuts who gush about "running the government like a business" - just don't get it. You don't run a GOVERNMENT like a business because government IS NOT a business. It's not structured that way, it's not administered that way, its objectives are not the same, and its reason for being isn't the same. Government IS NOT about earning a profit. That's all business is. Government is NOT about one single guy at the top of the pyramid who calls the shots and everybody else lives and dies by it. That's how it is for a CEO. The president, as we've all seen, is NO CEO. He's at the top of only one of several power camps, including legislative, and the judiciary, and the checks and balances they all present to each other - which the boss in a business doesn't have.

about not wanting to have him on his show. Then it came to light that he was booked in the near future. Dave was expressing discomfort about having him on his show, so he may be glad that he's not going to be on. Of course, that doesn't mean he won't have some choice comments on Trump doing this.
