I just unsubcribed from barackobama.com

Here is the link http://my.barackobama.com/page/unsubscribe/

It has an option to leave a reason.

I left a reason. Just one reason. The problem is that I had a real hard time choosing the reason. It was a pretty long list.

I had such faith in Obama. I thought he was going to be one of the great presidents of all time.

Maybe if enough of us unsubscribe, it will send a message. I still have hope.

1. I'm sure they're shattered. Shattered, I tell you!
Sorry, I'm not with you on this.

If, as many say, he only listened to us to get into office, why should anyone think this move would sway him?

4. As Obama's biggest fans at DU are saying:
Obama doesn't need your vote. Guess it'd be silly to give him something he doesn't even want. Right?

And why on earth would you give you vote to someone who doesn't want it? I know I certainly won't.

Mission Accomplished! RAH! RAH!

Why is that, pray tell?

17. False dichotomy = bad logic = lazy thinking
Just because one choice is horrible doesn't mean the other choice is better. It may be (and is) worse.

Calling anyone who isn't happy with the party a republican is really ugly and rude. It makes you sound like a petty little brat. "I'm happy, so you can go fuck yourself. You've got no place to go anyway, so you have to stay, and I'm going to torment you because you're unhappy."

Don't you have even the least bit of interest in improving the party? Don't you care even a little that the party continually betrays and abandons all our constituents on the left?

If you are so pleased with our party moving to the right and betraying the left, perhaps you are the one that resembles a republican. Our party has certainly become infested with a hell of a lot of DINOs who support ideas and programs that came originally from the republican party. :(

24. I've been a Democrat since Tammany Hall and the Reform wing...
and remember the segregationist Dixiecrats that LBJ threw out to form the modern Republican party. And then dealt with the Essex and Union County Democratic machines in New Jersey and the three Democratic parties fighting for power there.

So don't lecture me about "reforming" the party.

It's the whining I can't stand, along with the empty threats and stamping of little feet, rather than just dealing with the realities of how power works.

And, yes, we are infested, but it's not so much by DINOs as by people who are trying to destroy the power structure we do have by undermining it and not offering legitimate alternatives.

25. If you really don't see the DINOs and the conservatives
taking over the party and pulling us to the right,

And if you really think that the people at the bottom, the powerless, the ones the party neglects and abandons, the ones the party should be helping aren't allowed to be upset and aren't allowed to complain,

But you think those same people should somehow be propose policy alternatives or something, while still being powerless,

Then you're really a crackpot. You're part of the problem. You're demanding that the victims fix the problem while being subject to it. Meanwhile you have a double standard. You don't expect the people with real power to do anything. You defend the people with power who create the problems and neglect the problems and benefit from the problems.

I don't care how old you are or what problems you've stood around and seen. You don't seem to have learned how to do anything productive or compassionate. You seem to be all about power solely for the sake of power, and you don't really care how it is used or abused so long as your team holds that power.

That is really sick.

Obama doesn't give a fuck about you or your opinions.

If there is a more persuasive argument for "unsubscribing" than that, I can't think of it.

Let the http://www.galen.org/fileuploads/GalenPoll.pdf">whopping 21% who support the mandates do the heavy lifting for Obama.

Mission & History
Mission
The Galen Institute is a non-profit public policy research organization devoted exclusively to advancing free-market ideas in health policy. We work to promote a more informed public debate over ideas that support innovation, individual freedom, consumer choice, and competition in the health sector.

The Galen Institute believes that:

•A market that supports innovation will lead to lower costs, expanded choice, and increased access to better medical care.
But faced with a Congress and White House in the United States that are headed in the opposite direction, the Galen Institute has many plans to counter the march toward government-controlled medicine, and we believe we can shift the debate toward free-market ideas. Using our communications and coalition-building expertise, we work to:
