Obama job approval trending better than any time since the bin Laden bump.
Currently it's 47.0 approval, 48.2 disapproval. On January 7th it was 47.2/47.6 - almost as many approving as disapproving.

I believe he's more popular because there are now actual Republican candidates to compare him to.

1. I think the presidential race is a slam dunk and we need to focus on Congress
And the Senate. Get more true liberals in there.

3. The DNC does not seem to give liberals a lot of support, nor does it stay neutral.
See, for example, Lieberman v. Lamont; Spectre v. Sestak and Lincoln v. Halter.

I very much tend to doubt that the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee or the Democratic House Campaign Committee have been recruiting liberals to run for office.

5. The DSCC & DCCC are for re-electing incumbents.
Electing new Democrats takes a very low priority to maintaining the status quo.

6. They recruit people to run for office as well.

Here's a story about Rahm's 2005 "service" on the DCCC.

Then, we wonder why the number of liberals in the House and Senate keeps decreasing.

4. It's still early. When it comes to the only poll that matters, Obama will win.
