President Obama receives an A+ with how he handled this storm
Edited on Sun Aug-28-11 01:43 PM by Harmony Blue
Very efficient, organized, and precise with how FEMA operated, and coordinated with many of the states effected. Minimized the potential damage this storm was offering with a very pro active approach compared to a reactive approach. Kudos to President Obama and his team. :toast:

3. FEMA actually works when it is used properly and
has competent leadership. The Repugs intentionally put Brownie in to break the organization.

Ron Paul can go back the 1900's if he want's.....

5. The MSM on the otherhand... I'd go with a D...
For the overhype, particularly here in New England... Yeah it got a little windy... yeah there was some rain... but it wasn't the end of the world or anything.

12. The scenes with reporters standing on the beach in couple reports actually standing in the water....
I was rooting for the storm. This has to be one of the reasons people emulate media idiots standing in storms. One good rouge wave can nail you without much warning during a storm. I learned this on my second visit to the beach in Florida 20 years ago.

22. Perhaps the major cities
did well but there is massive flooding in Westchester County, the entire state of CT and Vermont is getting clobbered. Almost a million people don't have power. Not overhyped at all for us.

24. Perhaps not for you,
but it's still pretty bad for some of your neighbors.

I, for one, am thankful rather than cynical. If Irene was this bad as a comparatively weak storm, it could indeed have been awful at anything stronger.

6. President Obama failed to stop a massive foreign enemy attack on New York City and Washington DC.
He should be impeached for ignoring the repeated warnings he received, while on vacation in Crawford...

...I mean Martha's Vineyard.

7. Being prepared REALLY saves. I suspect many would have died or been injured or
needed rescue if we had been as lackadaisical about this as the Monday morning quarterbacks would have us.

13. Handled the storm, ok sure, but how about jobs, multiple wars, the economy, secret bank loans?
a storm huh? scraping the bottom the barrel there - desperately searching for positive Obama actions. :eyes:

17. Always has to be one, eh?
It was a fucking hurricane, not "a storm". Maybe you don't follow the news.

"jobs, multiple wars, the economy, secret bank loans"

Jobs have been up since he took office.

There's timetables for pulling out of Afghanistan, Iraq offensive operations are over.

There was a payroll tax cut, a cash dump into credit, a cash dump into jobs, a whole shitload of financial market changes, and the reason bank loans were secret was to *help* the economy, and not fuck it up further....but hey:
"desperately searching for negative Obama actions"
...continues.

I'll certainly give him credit for the proactive over reactive approach. And calling Bush "reactive" with Katrina is being really generous.
