that their only wish is to defeat you....
than super-majorities in both houses for 49 days
(includes Lieberman in the Senate)
fall short in being able to rationalize that
somehow Obama had all that he needed to make the Left's
progressive list of legislations as specially ordered come
to pass.

Defeating Pres. Obama actually means defeating YOU....no two ways about it.

The truth is that he didn't have all he needed....
as the House had a large voting block of conservative Democrats...
and even still, I believe that the house passed 400+ bills that most Liberals would like,
but same bills were defeated in the Senate,
due to the fact that we didn't have as many progressives as we needed there,
considering that we had and still have Republicans who would and did do
everything in their power to do nothing but defeat Pres. Obama, period.

Those are the facts......not the simple view of it, and more importantly,
anyone who claims to understand politics knows this very well.

Look...if Pres. Obama loses in 2012, he will survive....
but if we lose, we lose everything.
Now, that's the truth, and nothing but!

To discount the fact that it would have been impossible for a congress
to pass legislation more liberal than the most conservative Democrat during
the 49 days that Pres. Obama DID have Supermajority,
when those conservative Democrats IN FACT did have the deciding votes,
is revisionist history at its most cynical and is intellectually dishonest, IMO.

I suggest that instead of taking time out to point the finger at Obama
claiming that it is all his fault, post after post...
I urge that we work very hard in giving ourselves victories by doing what we can
in electing as many Democrats in office as possible in 2012.

We have much to achieve in the four years following the 2012 election:

Repeal of DOMA
Nominating Supreme court and other federal Judgeships
Improving on HealthCare Reform and Financial Reform
passing the Dream Act and immigration reform
Securing Social Security and improving on Medicare (Gov't Drug negotiation)
completing ending the wars,
putting an energy policy that makes sense and creating green jobs,
and more.....

We will not be able to do any of these things, or even get close if we give in on cynicism,
and instead of activating for these elections (to make sure we have a congress
that will make the right laws, and a President that will sign them),
to instead constantly attempt to not see things as they were,
and to not see clearly how things will be if we don't get to working.....

Waiting till the day before the elections to activate ain't gonna get it....
not when we are going up against Citizens United and the right wing corporate media,
and a party that has proclaimed that Corporations are people too!

Regardless of what the President says and does daily that folks don't like,
debating those utterances day in day out will not get us what we really want,
and in fact, may end up giving us exactly what we don't want, and in the worse
of ways.

I painfully remember many on DU being discouraged in 2010 and threatening to not vote... I just kept replying "John Boehner, Speaker of the House"... seems no one listened... if we don't fight for the Democrats, Pres Obama et al... it will only get worse
