Creative solutions to the jobs problem?
Edited on Tue Aug-09-11 03:57 PM by woolldog
Instead of criticizing President Obama --not saying he doesn't deserve some criticism, but just put that aside for a minute--

Do you have any creative solutions to the jobs problem? Do you have any suggestions on initiatives, programs, or policies, that would lower the unemployment rate and spur economic growth? Keep in mind the difficulties a GOP controlled House presents.

An example of a decent idea that has a chance of getting through Congress:

I'm looking for suggestions like this.

1. I'm looking forward to what some of the biggest Obama critics
on DU will suggest.

4. Tax Incentives to Corporations who Bring Jobs Back to the US
That's at the top of my list.

Training young people to do hospice work. Training young people in eldercare.

Placing tariffs on imports.

Giving tax incentives to small farmers. Selling land for farms at low cost.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I keep hearing about infrastructure jobs and energy jobs and I just don't see it.
I think it's interesting how BestBuy created the Geek Squad and I'm VERY surprised that they don't have more competition. I think they're expensive.
Ask Amazon to highlight products Made In America.
5. A guy on a Hartmann video suggested a no cost solution
Just declare that any work supplies or products used for government work has to come from domestic suppliers. That would cause companies to be built and employees being hired. The government apparently contributes 20% of the GNP. Just think if we would have supplied the steel that was bought from China for that Californian bridge.
