Vice President, and soon to be President tells American....
Edited on Sun Mar-06-11 08:37 AM by Badfish
Atheists that they should not be considered citizens.

This was over 20 years ago , the entire GOP was silent on the issue after their soon to be President handed out the talking point.

I demand to know where I stand with the current GOP , am I even considered a US citizen in their eyes ?

When George Bush was campaigning for the presidency, as incumbent vice-president, one of his stops was in Chicago, Illinois, on August 27, 1987. At O'Hare Airport he held a formal outdoor news conference. There Robert I. Sherman, a reporter for the American Atheist news journal, fully accredited by the state of Illinois and by invitation a participating member of the press corps covering the national candidates, had the following exchange with then-Vice-President Bush.

Sherman: What will you do to win the votes of the Americans who are atheists?

Bush: I guess I'm pretty weak in the atheist community. Faith in God is important to me.

Sherman: Surely you recognize the equal citizenship and patriotism of Americans who are atheists?

Bush: No, I don't know that atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered patriots. This is one nation under God.

Sherman (somewhat taken aback): Do you support as a sound constitutional principle the separation of state and church?

Bush: Yes, I support the separation of church and state. I'm just not very high on atheists.

3. More of an idiot.
It's a pity the fruit fell so close to the tree and that winning the sperm lottery provides such an unfair advantage in life.

Scary to think they all got the Bush brains and their disposition from Babs. What an ugly combination.

Note the title, Momentary lapse of Reason(Rea son)

Side note, it could be the person that creates that image that is trying to block him by creating that presentation also.

So the blocker is the comment being said isn't it :D

Some other fun comments in that picture. Ge or ge Bus H With us or against us,when it could be ge or ge, LOL That is funny

But honestly I don't judge him, he has different experiences, and may have done better an worse in many of his choices.

However he has the ability to correct the beer and travel money that is due to me, so there is that to think on.
