Mrs. Lurkin asked me if we are going to put the flag up today. It used to go up on every Holiday. I became less consistent starting back in the 1990s though, and today, sadly, something seems wrong about the very thought of doing so.

I hoisted mine on February 12th (Lincoln’s birthday), and will again tomorrow (Washington’s birthday), but I don’t want my neighbors to think that I have any respect for Øbongo.

21. I disagree with this. I can factually justify 99% of what DUers wrote about Dumbya during his tenure

Dumbya WAS a usurper. I can point to statistics that say that Gore really won Florida. I can cite evidence that Ohio was possibly stolen as well in 2004. On the other side of things, the Freeper claim that Obama is a usurper is based on insane birtherism that even many other insane Republicans like Ann Coulter have said is garbage.

The rest is similar. I say Dumbya is a criminal because of Iraq and torture. I can talk through those points and use factual references. What have the Freepers got to justify their schtick? Nothing.

I'm not gonna look up a bunch of old threads (too lazy), but I remember lots of threads about not wanting to fly the American flag during the Dubya years.

Usurper? Yep.
Gore won? Yep.
Ohio in 2004? Hell yes. I'd even suggest that the 2004 results in Ohio were more fucked up than FL 2000.

But I wasn't addressing any of that. I only made the point that the FR conversation was very similar to things that I saw here. You can make all the distinctions all day, and I'd probably agree with you.
