We Elected You Mr. Obama - Football Analogy
Not to be Roger Goodell, but to be Knute Rockne. Fire our team up, and kick the shit out of the other team.

Quit negotiating, quit trying to work with them. Give it your all, and walk off the field knowing you did your best. Don't go into a 'prevent' defense and quit trying to run the clock out. Blitz their asses, and pound the rock until you can throw the long one and score. Run it up. They would.

3. I'd be willing to allow a Screen Pass
Let them think they are about to sack us, then we throw a screen pass and take it to the House...of Representatives.

5. Sorry, but this is not a football game. He's president of ALL Americans and has to work with
Repubs. to get things done.

7. To me, it makes people seem so naive to think Obama.......
....should run to the left when election season is just beginning. Personally, I trust Obama to do our bidding. I know a lot here do not, but I do. I am not disappointed in him at all. I am, in fact, very happy with his overall performance, given the circumstances with which he took office.

I certainly do not agree with every thing he has done, but one cannot reasonably expect a president to fulfill every wish because he IS the president of ALL the people of America.

21. The only reason he was elected president is because he ran on a platform that included
many left leaning ideas.

So now that he is elected are you saying that he is allowed to change his mind and people should not get upset?

I voted for him to change Washington, not to change his mind.

6. Let's see.....
He killed single payer health care and gave the multi millionaire CEOs of health care corporations mandatory customers.

He gave yet another tax give away to the uber rich and continues to give tax breaks and subsidies to corporations that pay NO taxes.

He is cutting help to the poor. He abandoned ACORN and has done NOTHING for the Unions.

He continued the bushes bail outs of banks and continues to give them cheap money while fudging the unemployment numbers and creating NO jobs.

He loves him some US Chamber of Horrors.

He is doing another NAFTA with Korea.

He actively promotes "free" trade, entitlement reform and cutting government programs for the poor.

He failed to do anything about the foreclosure crisis.

He escalated the war in Afghanistan.

He failed to prosecute the criminal bushes for torture.

He has expanded the powers of the executive by declaring he can murder anyone.

He failed to close GITMO.

He is ignoring the crimes of the dancing supremes.

He reappointed Helicopter Ben.

He has the most pro-corporate administration since bush.

Heck of a Job Obama.

8. Any suggestions for a replacement if you think he's so horrid?
And your list is ridiculous. Escalated war? Loves the chamber? Yawn.

17. He DID escalate the war in Afghanistan.
And we've now clearly seen that this accomplished nothing.

It's time to admit that U.S. military force has no right at all to be in the Middle East.

26. I would rather a Republican get
the blame for ruining the country. You know, if we are going to ruin it anyway. I will vote for an Obama opponent in 2012. They are either with us or against us -someone said.

9. Nice to find someone on my side
I'm not calling for a re-call, or even voting against him in 2012, or that he hasn't acheived anything because he certainly has. I'd just like to see more fight for what I believe in before I die, and my 2 year old is old enough to vote. There aren't enough Kucinich's, Grayson's (0 now), and Sanders' out there.

I seldom start threads...I see why now. I see people all over that REC similar threads and notions, but when I do it, it's a negative!

I come here for sanity, because I live in a Red State. I have to stream Progressive Radio at work to drown out CNBC, Teabagger co-workers and right leaning News broadcasts. I go here for sanity.

15. But when something good comes out of Congress, like DADT repeal, he gets all the credit.
It's considered a tremendous accomplishment of the POTUS and all the work Dem members of Congress did is ignored.

Have a take and do not suck.

He stands up for little, and fights for his convictions even less.

14. What the hell is this?
The President should never have a strictly partisan philosophy. He has to walk a fine line--be willing to work with them, but know when he can't.

You people have him going out there like some talking head bomb-thrower.

16. Doncha know? Life is just like the movies.
If somebody just has enough pluck and determination, they can win against all odds. Especially if there's a Kenny Loggins montage song playing during the fight.

19. I want negotiation. I want that, because I want things to get done.
That's the way it works in a democracy.

If I wanted someone to claim it's his way or the highway...well, we had that for 8 years, and look where it got us. That's called a dictatorship. In a democracy, compromise is necessary. WHAT you compromise is what matters. The devil is in the details.

But I want...we NEED...things to get done. And that means compromise and negotiation. The way I see it, Obama doesn't necessarily negotiate as hard as he could. And he's too polite and nice to people who would stab him, if they got the chance. It's that "turn the other cheek" philosophy. Still, he doesn't give the other side REAL reason to hate him. So far, they have to make up crap. Maybe that means his style is working.

25. football analogy does not work
just like the employee analogy.

Governing is not playing a game which has rules and is limited in time and scope and does not involve weighing any long term questions or doing any research.
