What's wrong with calling for both Reid's head
and Traitor Joe's? Not to mention the health insurance "industry" itself?
The Republicans were completely irrelevant. Teabagger tactics were ineffective. The public saw right through it and recognized it as an unholy alliance between corporate lobbyists and right wing nut cases to drown out discussion with Storm Trooper-light tactics.
No, the pro-reform forces won the public debate. Americans, by large numbers, wanted a public option and, when confronted by a choice between a public option supporter and a corporate-financed opponent, they chose the public option. We are not getting health care reform because of four or five corporatist members of the Democratic caucus: Joe Liberman, Max Baucus, Mary Landrieu, Blanche Lincoln and Ben Nelson. Defeating these jerks in each's next primary should be a priority for all the people. Do I hear protests from loyalist contingent, "Each may be replaced by a Republican?" My reply to that is, "So what? No one will be able to tell the difference, any way." Republicans are the willing whores of the corporations, and so are the others who sided with the health insurance "industry" against the people.
Senator Reid, let's not hear any more about playing nice with Senator Lieberman. When a deal was cut with him in January, he promised to behave himself in return for pretending nothing happened when he sided with Bloody Bush and his useless imperial war in Iraq. He did not just break faith with you and President Obama, he broke faith with all who supported the Democratic Party's effort to achieve health care reform. He stood up and opposed the caucus which showed him more generosity than he deserved to side with the reactionaries even on procedural matters. He has broken his promise and must be punished.
I say, bring us his head, garnished with his committee chairmanship and his seniority.
There is no health insurance industry. There is a health insurance
racket that makes its money by cheating the public. What? Do I hear the teabaggers wailing that they don't want a solution to this problem. They say they want "freedom"? There is no more "freedom" to run a business like that than there is to run it as the Mafia would. Corrupt, dishonest politicos like GOP House Leader John Boehner impotently said at one point they wanted to start over. Well, let's take them up on it. Now is the time. We don't want a public option to compete with the health insurance racket. We want a single payer system to
replace this racket.
The health insurance racket forgot that the public option was a compromise. They declared war on all health care reform and on the American people. They took no prisoners. Now we, the People, will fight back and we shall take no prisoners.
The Declaration of Independence states that when any form of government becomes destructive to the ends of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it. Do those who run the health insurance racket believe that this only applies to government as an institution charged with the public's trust? Be it known that it does not. Artificial persons do not stand above ordinary people, but beneath them. They are created not by nature or by nature's God, but by the government that governs with the consent of the people. If the government creates artificial persons with
more rights than those of us created by nature or nature's God, then we need to abolish the government. Otherwise, we need to abolish those artificial persons who declare war on us and presume superior rights. As it was the right of the people separate America from Britain, which taxed Americans without representation, as it was the right of Frenchmen to abolish a tyrannical monarchy, so it is the right of ordinary people, not just in America but world wide, to abolish tyrannical private businesses that take money without performing promised services, that work to improve their private lot at the expense of their customers or whose business cannot be conducted with despoiling the health of the very planet on which we live and then propagate lies about their responsibility in the despoilment.
I say, bring me the heads of tyrants who direct the health insurance racket, and let their fate serve as a warning to bankers and fossil fuel producers.
