The Pollyannas need to check themselves. We are going in the wrong direction and the unemployed, the underemployed, and the too discouraged to look could give a rat's ass whose fault it is. They want their jobs and dignity back...

2. A factor that is compounding the unemployment...

...crisis is that whenever we get any glint of good news about an improved economy
or jobs outlook---discouraged workers and others flood the market looking to pick
up jobs.

There are many people who retired or retired relatively early--and they're scared as
hell. Their investment portfolios have taken a hit and Social Security and Medicare
are no longer sure things. So they want back in to make more money. Understandable.

Many discouraged workers, who aren't even counted in the unemployment statistics, stopped
looking for work. But when the job market is more positive, they come out of the woodwork--
hoping to snag a job.

I'm a stay-at-home mom and have been so for nine years. I'm not including in the unemployment
statistics, but I'm gearing up to return to the workforce. It's too damn scary out there
to rely only on one income. Sign of the times.

There are just so, so many people looking for work, in this economy--who would otherwise
not be doing so under better circumstances.

Our new republican governor-elect says there are plenty of jobs, but people don't want to work (PA). He also plans to cut the number of people getting medicaid by 15%, and bust some unions.

13. There's good news and bad news

The bad news is that it's going to get worse because the economy is still a house of cards destined to decay further, and the unemployed will eventually run out of benefits.

The good news is that the unemployed are also running out of hope, which means they'll soon have nothing left to lose, and that's when they become dangerous to the status quo.

When the DJIA jumps on the very same day worse-than-expected employment numbers are announced it should be obvious that the economic welfare of the ruling class is inversely related to the economic welfare of the working class.

14. I've given up 2010 was the dumbest thing I've witnessed in history 2000 ok we all make mistakes but

2010 is going to prove a historic calamity. It's going to be a loooooong way back. At least I tried that's all I know and whatever decision Pres. Obama makes ANY Democratic President would make from this point as he's not just the lefts President and we sent the message with our vote go HARD right. It' doesn't matter much what we say, it's how we vote they most listen to.
