6. Everybody plays. Everybody pays.
Since we can't make the cuts only for those who were trying to stop the madness that was bush, we need to end all the cuts. The country is a democracy and this democracy (flawed as it may be) put an idiot and his handlers in power for 8 years. Now we all have to pay.

7. All expire.
Borrowing another $700 billion for fat cats is ludicrous. If that means ending them for everybody then so be it.

Tell your local Dem that much of that $700 billion will be spent to defeat him/her in their next reelection race.

8. We can't afford it now. We couldn't afford it then. We need a budget based on
math, not political calculation and wishful thinking.

9. That is what people keep glossing over.
They lament some loss to the economy, as if the tax cuts have been a great benefit to this stellar economy for the past few years. Those who defend or argue for their extension (even 'temporarily' haha) ignore what it is costing our country. The compounding deficit leads to debates on how to gut SS, public education and every social welfare program is at risk of being put on the chopping block for some rich fuckers to horde extra money.

I wish we had a political party that understands and articulates this.

10. Somehow I don't see hordes of followers rallying to the flag of "The Math Party".

:P

on edit:

"Math: Count on it, it's integral to the success of democracy!"

second edit:

But think about it, how much better off would we be if we dealt in facts and did the math? Just changing those two things would change a lot.
