I'll just leave a teaser. You're just about correct. You could even go as far as to say he committed impeachable offenses prior to our being involved in a war ... and no I don't mean that idiotic nonsense about him ignoring warnings about Pearl Harbor.

I refer to our dealings with and aid to the Chinese prior to the Executive having been given the authority to do so. This is one of the reasons Japan attacked us. That and our activities with regard to oil supplies were reasons they cited at any rate.

And, no, I'm not justifying it, nor do I think FDR should have been impeached. I'm just making the brief point that it's a lot easier to look favorably upon a leader when viewing them from the present into the past than it is from the present looking into an unknowable future.

DU would have *hated* FDR from 1933 until at least 1939, and some would have hated him throughout. A lot of what he did that was right and good was not readily apparent until after the war.

And Obama is a war criminal for expanding illegal wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as violating Pakistani sovereignty.

The U-505, the German submarine on display at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, was captured at sea along with nearly with all of her crew. Because of the classified nature of what was on board the boat (codes and such), it was best that Germany believe that they ship was sunk. The crew was taken to a POW camp in Louisiana where they were kept isolated from the other prisoners and forbidden to contact their next of kin or the Red Cross.
