Ed Schults Just Made Me Cry... I Had Turned Off My PC So I Would Stay
away from my "addiction" here at DU because it has disturbed so much lately. I was going to post that instead of giving my money to DU (sorry, I only have so much) I'm going to give some money to the Free Clinics! Actually, I'm still crying right now.

I had to go to the eye doctor today, I HAVE insurance and found out that my operation isn't going to cost me the $2800.00 I expected because another procedure can be done for less money. Now I can afford to add to the money we need to put a new roof on our house by February because our home insurance requires it. Even though I still need to save some more money by February, I will take $50.00 to give to the Clinics!

This is heartbreaking! Going back to watch the show now... maybe some others can give some money too! Please do!

Thanks

2. My wife & I decided not to exchange holiday gifts this year
& are looking into local charities where we think we can make the most difference. We have two local free clinics, and will give to both.

Bless you for sharing with those who need so much.

11. Wonderful... I Help Out With An Elderly Neighbor & Two Others Because
they can't get to the store or get around much. Plus, they are alone and so much confuses them about simple things like the changes in the telephone system. My neighbor just couldn't understand why her old phone wouldn't work anymore, and she couldn't hear it ring. It needed new batteries and it was OLD... so we got it all fixed up! But she didn't know what was wrong!

Technology changes really confuse them, and I will admit it gets frustrating trying to make them understand something that's really foreign to them! I have a feeling I'll have to explain it again, but what can you do??

16. Free Clinics or Remote Area Medical would be great....
husbo has a classmate who lives in Idaho (uh oh) and he is a retired emergency room physician.
He is a republican and staunchly opposed to universal health care.

He also has sent hateful emails about President Obama as in "Where is Lee Harvey Oswald when we need him?".

I am not kidding.

I think he might be a real good candidate for a "Donation in your name"....

6. I had already donated when KO first talked about this.

After watching Ed, I need to donate more. This really brought it home how selfish so many of the Dem Congress critters, and, of course, the repugs are. Ed is right. They should come to one of the free health clinics and see how thousands, make that millions, of American live. Congress lives in a bubble.

10. Yes, I Want To Also Thank Keith From the Bottom Of My Heart For Putting
this front and center, but seeing it, well "up close and personal" really got to me! Ed said that most of the people there were hard working people who really need help! I'm so thankful for what I have because I know I'm doing better than many, but my family has never been anything but "middle class" if that exists much these days!

I still have my home even though it's not shiny and new, I can still pay my bills, but we have had to cut costs just as millions of others are doing. I'm fortunate that both my daughter & son live right here around us, with their children, and Christmas will be good because we can all be together. I'm making gifts for the grandkids, but the rest of the family have decided that we won't exchange gifts. I'm grateful for having such a loving family and I'm sure that just being together will be "good enough!"

Wouldn't it be really wonderful if we could see just one of these clinics each and every day? Or better yet, wouldn't it be better if the Congress would just stop and listen to "we the people" and do the right thing??

I didn't give much, but I'm sure anything helps, but as the one doctor said, this isn't the way to go, it's a patch! Not the exact words, but that's the gist! Thanks again Ed & Keith for doing the right thing!

PEACE! :loveya:

18. I think Ed was really moved by that whole free clinic experience.....
He looked like a different man. It is very very sad that this is going on in "the greatest country in the world"
